Medium Bark

Description

Medium Bark is the most commonly used, and one of the more inexpensive barks. It is a fir and hemlock bark, ground fairly coarse, and is light reddish-brown in color. It will typically darken with age.

Using bark mulch as a ground cover helps suppress weed growth and retain soil moisture. Typical installation involves a layer of bark 2 - 4" thick that will need to be replenished about once a year. Be sure when laying bark to pull the material back from the stalks of your shrubs and plants to allow air flow and prevent rotting.
