Pennsylvania Bluestone is a unique product found only in a small area of Northeastern Pennsylvania. It is a strong, stable sandstone that resists cracking and discoloring. It actually comes in three colors: Full Color, True Blue and Lilac.
The Lilac has a fairly uniform chocolate to purple toned lilac coloring.
The True Blue has a uniform grey-blue hue without much variation in color.
The Full Color is the most common color and is a subtle combination of the Lilac and True Blue, with an emphasis of soft grey and tan hues, sometimes containing greens.
The Full Color Standup is one of our most popular stones for patios and walkways because of it's cost effectiveness and ease of installation, while the Slabs and Hearths can be used for custom fireplace installations. Pennsylvania Bluestone is the most commonly used stone for custom fireplace installs because it is one of the easiest stones to cut and work with. Once cut, this material can also be "thermalled", which is where the stone is re-textured to disguise the saw marks.
Standup = 75-85 SF per ton
Tumbled Patio = 75 SF per ton
