3/4" Minus Crushed Recycled Asphalt is made from recycled road asphalt that has been ripped up. Since it is a recycled material, you will sometimes find other materials in it, like aggregate rock or peagravel that may have been under the road and got ripped up with the asphalt. This can impact the coloring of the material.
This material packs down very well, particularly in warm months or if you have a compactor or roller to lay it down. If you have a steep hill and can't keep conventional gravel on it, putting crushed asphalt in and rolling it may be the answer.
Keep in mind that because this is asphalt, it does tend to get a bit soft and 'melty' during the really warm months and is not easily spreadable. It is best laid in the cooler seasons or just before the warm seasons since the warm weather will then help it to pack in.
