3/4" Minus Basalt

Description
3/4" Minus Crushed Basalt is our most commonly used driveway gravel. It is a locally crushed basalt from 3/4" all the way down to 0", so it contains the fines from the crushing process. It is these fines that will help the rock to pack in and stay in place while driving on it. During the wet season this product does absorb and hold quite a bit of moisture, making it more difficult to spread and compact while wet. A higher quality option during these times would be the 3/4" Minus Aggregate.
Since basalt is a blasted rock that contains no round edges it will pack better than an aggregate rock will. This makes it better suited for steep driveways where compaction is key.
